I am the only daughter of Kirsti Aakkula.  She passed away of multiple myloma in April of 2001.  My father is American and he and my mother met when they were very young.  My two older brothers and I have enjoyed growing up with the Finnish influence my mother and her parents- Antero and Aino Aakklua tought us.  I now live with my husband Charlie and our two children in New Market, MD. I am very excited to have the chance to see Finland and to meet our Finnish relatives.
