Objectives of the Instructions-page is guiding and assisting an user to solve common problems independently. The page consists of replies to perceptions reported by users or perception/reply pairs. An user perception may be any function or feature experienced troublesome by an user.
Users are asked to send a short description of a detected perception to the persons in charge. They analyze it and draw corresponding reply and insert a new perception/reply -pair on the Instructions-page. Perceptions are viewed as questions on the page. A reply related a a perception is opened by clicking left ear of a mouse on the question.
Q: Updating a family table?
A: The WP is used for updating the family table. User moves to WP by pressing [Joutsiniemi] button on the top left of a family page. On the left side of WP front page is the main menu. From the menu user selects [Pages] option. As ar result of the selection is a list of user -owned pages (typically only own page). User moves the cursor on the name of desired page and presses the left ear of the mouse which opens the selected family table in to-be-updated mode.
The family table information is presented in a standard format, which consists of three (3) sections 1 ) title, 2 ) additional informatio and 3) database fields. Here they are presented in more detail.
1) Title of a family table is in top of the form. If user wants to update the name, he/she simply writes a changes directly in the title field, however, with the same writing format as other tables (LAST NAME 1.First name 2.First name). Name in the title field is used in the family hierarchy (tree). The same changes must be made both in the Finnish and English title field.
2) Information in the Additional data field can be freely udated by the table owner. Text entry in the field resembles use of a word processing. At the top of the Additional data field is a row of buttons to highlight the text. Above the Additional data field is [Add Media] button which is used to insert images (Instruction to insert images is given in relation to another question). In addition, above the field are alternative buttons for text insertion both in Finnish and English. It is intended that the information is supplied both languages, but translation can be done also later.
In the bottom right of the page is the Page Setup dialog box. From the drop list opened with [Top view] button user selects either owner's father's or mother's name. The choice of a name defines location of the table in family hierarchy (tree). [Family member] form is the right choice from the Template list. Number in the Order selection list defines age order of siblings. The oldest sibling number is zero (0) and number of second oldest sibling is 1 and next one is 2 etc. If the page is now completed and the user does not need to update the database information (see bellow), press the [Update] button, which saves made changes in ths system.
3 ) The family table data stored in the database locate after the Additional information filed and consists of several pages. Database information updating is started by pressing [Edit] button. This results opening of data into several separate data specific fields. All the data can be freely updated. Fields, for which no information exist are left empty.
Once the data has been updated pressing the [Store] button in the low end of the page results database updates and closing of the fields. When all needed family table data has been updated, press the [Update] button, at which stage the systemfinalizes all the updates
