Lauri kuoli Tampereella, Tammenlehväkeskuksessa (ent. Veljeskoti ), jossa  hän asui elämänsä viimeiset vuodet. Lauri oli nuorin Auli ja Hannes Myllylän perheen lapsista. Hänen poismenon myötä poistui tämän sukupolven viimeinen elossa ollut jäsen.
