Sivuston pilotkäyttö alkoi 21.9.2013

Sukusivuston pilotointi aloitettiin lauantina 21.9.2013, jolloin n. kymmenen sukulaisen pilottiryhmälle määriteltiin oikeudet järjestelmään. Pilotoinnilla sivustoryhmä keräsi käyttäjäkokemuksia, joitten perusteella on tarkoitus säätää järjestelmää mahdollisuuksien mukaan vielä ennen sen julkaisua. Esimerkiksi täydentää sivuston ohjeisto-osiota.

Pilotointi oli tarkoitettu vapaamuotoiseksi sikäli, ettei pilotoijille annettu sen tarkempaa ohjeistusta. Tämä siksi, ettei sivuston avaamisen yhteydessäkään ole tarkoitus ohjeistaa käyttäjiä sen kummemmin. Järjestelmän pitäisi siis olla helppokäyttöinen ja itse opastaa käyttäjää. Käyttöoikeuksillaan pilotryhmäläinen näki kaikki sivuston tiedot ja saattoi päivittää omaa sukutauluaan ja profiiliaan, mutta ei muitten.

Sukusivusto on nyt jotakuinkin sellainen kuin miksi sen suunnittelimme. Muutama  sivustoryhmän tavoittelema ominaisuus (kts. alla) oli kuitenkin jätettävä kustannussyistä  tuleviin versioihin: 

  • Sukukirjan taulusivulle olisimme haluneet palstan vapaamuotoisille tiedoille 
  • Toinen tavoittelemamme ominaisuus liittyy sukutaulun hierarkiaan. Olisimme haluneet toteuttaa siihen ominaisuuden, jolla käyttäjä voi sulkea ja avata sukupuuta.

Pilotoniin aikana näistä ensimmäisen toteutuksesta neuvoteltiin ja onnistuttiin pääsemään sopimukseen toimittajan kanssa. Sukutauluun on siis lähiviikkoina odotettavissa vapaamuotoinen palsta, johon taulun omistaja voi syöttää lisää kuvia ja vaikka linkkejä omille sivustoilleen, kuten Facebook-sivulle.
